The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the licensed telecom service providers, have allowed international pilgrims to activate eSIM cards through the service providers’ applications.
This initiative aims to enhance the digital experience for pilgrims, ensuring seamless connectivity at all times in affordable costs.
The service allows this year’s pilgrims to request eSIM cards from local service providers, then it will be verified and activated digitally through biometric verification via "Absher" application.
This ensures that pilgrims are connected from the moment they arrive to the Kingdom, without the need to visit service provider branches or wait until reaching their accommodation.
This initiative is part of CST’s efforts to support pilgrims, reflecting its commitment to improve user’s experience through innovative tech services, and demonstrate the integration between various entities to enhance the Kingdom's image in serving pilgrims visiting the Holy Mosque.
